There are rumors doing rounds that the Bollywood diva Diana Penty will be featuring in the remake of the 90’s epic and a classic song ‘Sheher Ki Ladki’. In the song, she will be seen with Punjabi rapper Badshah in the forthcoming film, Khandaani Shafakhana.
The rapper is making his debut in the field of acting opposite Sonakshi Sinha with the film.
The original song featured Suniel Shetty and Raveena Tandon in the film Rakshak which was released in 1996. The song is being shot in Mumbai currently, and the days of shoot of this song are Thursday and Friday. Talking to the media in one of the interviews, Badshah said “Shehar Ki Ladki is one of my favorite tunes by the composer duo. I couldn’t be happier about singing and performing for it. I hope fans will love my tribute.”
One of the sources said “Unlike the original track, which was filmed outdoors — from a railway station to a bridge — the modern-day rendition is a conventional party number in a pub.”
The song has been recreated and rewritten by Tanishk
Bagchi. The new version of the song has been sung by Badshah and Tulsi Kumar. And
the rap portion of the song has been done by Badshah himself.
Sonakshi Sinha will be the lead actor of the film and will be seen as a young girl working at the sex clinic. Other than Badshah and Sonakshi, Fukrey fame Varun Sharma will also be seen in the film. Shilpi Dasgupta has directed the film.
Talking during an interview, Sonakshi said “I am extremely happy to be part of this film which is so close to the world around us, to step into the shoes of a small town girl, and face the hilarious, madcap challenges thrown at her. Full of flavor, fun, and emotions.”
The film will hit the theatres on 2nd August.
