NOT MOHALI BUT BATHINDA BECOMES THE CLEANEST CITY OF PUNJAB

The city Bathinda has achieved the first place in the state for its cleanliness. The city has been ranked 104 among 4,041 cities under the Swachh Survey 2107, conducted by the Union Ministry of Urban Development. The results which got announced in New Delhi last Saturday disclosed Mohali to be ranked 109th, Ludhiana 137th, Ferozepur 168th, Patiala 183rd, Hoshiarpur 191st, Amritsar 208th, Jalandhar 215th and Pathankot 224th. According to the survey that was conducted last year, Bathinda had scored 132nd rank and was second to Mohali in Punjab. After the first phase, and measuring the precautions taken by the Bathinda MC, the city successfully scored a total of 1,200 points, it was further assimilated repeatedly under the survey. Other than solid waste management by the Bathinda Municipal Corporation it was the strict regime of the MC staff starting with biometric attendance and night sweeping that has made city open-defecation-free. Other than this public complaints and feedback were taken seriously to resolve issues through Swachhta mobile app. Executive Engineer Sandeep Gupta said, “We are happy that we have got the top ranking in the state in the survey. Now, we will work hard to maintain the rank and will work even more to get into the top 100 across the country in the survey next year.” Chief Sanitary Inspector Satish Kumar said, “It is great that we have got the 104th rank. We worked really hard. Various projects were initiated for the betterment of the city.”
