Be a patakha like Neeru Bajwa, Sargun Mehta, Mandy Takhar this festive season

Festivals are the time when you can show off your fashion sense without getting those 'being judged' glares from your relatives. Is the time you can really splurge on looking and feeling like a Diva. Here are a few ideas from Gabruu's favourite looks of Punjabi actresses that can be easily copied for a sweet and cosy housewarming this Dussehra aur Diwali.

1. Neeru Bajwa :

The lady is the queen of Bollywood for all the right reasons. From her movies making back to back box office success to her impeccable role as a homemaker, Bajwa has been a role model for many. However, her look on the cover of Darpan magazine is definitely something you can copy this Diwali. Lehanga choli with a long-jacket on the top is a perfect outfit  for every body type- from slim trim to curvaceous Indian beauties. Just pick out the best contrast shades in brocade or silk and get your favourite outfit made.

2. Sargun Mehta:

She defines ethnic and chic in the Punjabi industry the best. With a home back in fashion capital Mumbai, Sargun brings with her a beautiful and elegant mix of Indian and western. However, need we say she looks best adorning a simple kurta-pyjama. Just like in this pic you can take up any mono Chrome a line suit from your closet and buy a nice printed dupatta to add some oomph and colour to the look. Sargun, here, is wearing an ajrakh print embellished dupatta in cotton. But you can always twist the look with bold and striking Lehariya print or bandhani dupatta. Complete this look with bindi and you are a good to turn some heads at the Diwali party.

3. Sonam Bajwa:

Probably the first actress in Punjabi industry who has dared to go and try bold and sexy designs and cuts, she is goals if you want to leave a statement this festive season. Sonam Bajwa has a figure to die for and she has no qualms showing it off just like in this look. A simple crepe or printed silk lehenga with some twist in the blouse design can make you stand out amongst throngs. Minimal makeup and jewellery will definitely keep all the eyes on you. Try this look and do let us know that you were not the eye-catcher of the night!

4. Mandy Takhar:

Gold embellishments can give never go wrong. Especially on the nights of light. Most of Mandy Takhar's looks are easy-peezy and within budget limits. Just like this particular one. Choose a bright colour Patiala salwar-suit with some gold patti work. Pair it with chandbalis aur jhumkas and juttis and you will be the ethnic goddess of the celebration. Don't forget to leave your hair lose to make them boys sway like the flames of candles.

5. Wamiqa Gabbi:

Shararas, unlike lehengas, are easy to run around in. Especially if you are the hostess of the night. Pick out the colours carefully, though. Being the one throwing the party you must look elegant, subtle yet must grab attention. So pastel shades are your best friends this season. Light work on the kurta, golden wire work or lace on the sharara, and a contrast dupatta, that's all it will take to be comfortable, welcoming and the highlight of the Dussehra or Diwali party.
