Bollywood celebs slam CAB 2019 by calling it 'Unconstitutional', 'Sad Day for Indian Democracy'


After a long debate, the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2019 was passed on December 9 in the Lok Sabha which is ready to be tabled in the upper house today, but Bollywood celebs are not happy with it.

December 11, 2019: The Citizenship Amendment Bill 2019 was passed in the Lok Sabha and today it will be presented in the upper house by the Union Minister of Home Affairs, Amit Shah. 



The bill states that any person who has stayed in India coming from the neighboring countries Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Pakistan belonging to the six minority communities - Hindu, Sikh, Christians, Parsi, Jain, and Buddhist will be granted Indian citizenship in a time period of six years.

Soon after the bill was passed and the announcement made, various Bollywood celebrities have expressed their thoughts on social media while slamming it as they are not happy with the decision.

Swara Bhaskar, Tanu Weds Manu fame has shared her reaction for not supporting the NRC/CAB project,






Nandita Das, the famous actor and director one who  has acted in more than 40 feature films says that the CAB Bill is unconstitutional,






The Rang De Basanti actor Siddharth is deeply ashamed and rejects supporting the CAB bill. He further added that Jayalalithaa would have never supported the CAB,
