Chhapaak makers being dragged to the court once again

Aparna Bhat, the lawyer who represented Laxmi, has filed a contempt petition in Delhi High Court against the creators of the movie ‘Chhapaak’ and on-screen character Deepika Padukone.

She alleged that makers have not given due credit to her in spite of the court order. The plea has sought for the commencement of contempt proceedings against the creators of the movie for non-compliance of the High Court order directing respondents to give due credit to the lawyer Bhat for her contribution to the making of the film.

Bhat is the one who represented Laxmi, the acid attack victim on whose life the movie 'Chhapaak' is based.

Addressing IANS over the telephone, Bhat stated, "I have recorded this request as the creators have excluded the credits in the copy of the film which is being screened internationally."

However, she further cleared that due credits were given to her in the movie which is screening in India.
