CHHETRI THANKED HIS FANS ON WINNING INTERCONTINENTAL

Past few weeks were no less than a fairytale for Indian Football team captain Sunil Chhetri. He played 100th match for the country, saw a massive turnout in a match and received immense love from the people. Sunday match between India and Kenya was no less than a dream come true for Indian captain Sunil Chhetri as India won the match by a clear win by scoring 2-0 in the match. This was the second time when India swept the four-nation series from Kenya in the tournament. Chhetri along with his team stayed in the field to thank all the fans present in the Mumbai Football Arena stadium for being with them during the match. The captain said It has been a long road and we are now preparing for Asia cup which is about to happen next year. In a Tweet, he wrote;“What a feeling! Thank you, India! This win is for the fans who filled the stands, cheered from home and backed and believed in us. The boys and staff pulled together and now it’s time to enjoy. We regroup soon because the road is long – very long. #Champions.” [caption id="attachment_39063" align="alignnone" width="641"] source/twitter[/caption] India scored a massive victory against Taiwan with a 5-0 score, here Chhetri scored a hattrick but there was no one to celebrate their victory. After this Chhetri took to Twitter where he requested all the Indians to join them in the stadium and to witness the team in action. Impact of this video message was great as over 8000 people thronged the stadium on Chhetri's 100'th match where he thrashed Kenya by 3-0 score. In the third game, the Blue Tigers produced a demoralized play and looked out of sorts which is all that New Zealand needed to beat the hosts 2-1 but thankfully India made it to the finals. Chhetri also made a record of becoming first Indian to score in every tournament match. https://www.gabruu.com/sunil-chhetri-gets-emotional-on-his-100th-match/
