Yoga is something which started in India and later it was followed by the world. It is unfortunate to see that country which introduced yoga to the world has forgotten its benefits. It reminds us of an old song 'Apna Bharat vo Bharat hai jiske peechhe sansaar chala, sansaar chala aur aage badha.' Four years back Newly elected union government of India made a proposal to celebrate June 21 as international yoga day in UN general assembly. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice which touches your soul. The idea of international yoga day was first proposed by current Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. and later it was presented by India's representative to the United Nations General Assembly on 11th December 2014. During his speech at UN General assembly Prime minister said ; Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help in well being. Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga Day.
