DEAR EDUCATION SYSTEMS -THERE’S MORE TO LIFE THAN JUST BOOKS

‘Adulting’- something that engages in adult-like behaviour. But are we successfully raising our child in the manner we should be? The education begins the very moment we enter the mother’s womb. It is believed that as soon as a child, step into the real world he will learn the other vital life lessons.

But that is not true. He may feel cruel or hopeless that he was not taught to cope with the things in the right manner. Most of the Indian schools are concerned with a student’s academic performance only.

Here are some teachings that if we were taught in the school would have made our life much easier as we grew up:

TRAVELLING ETIQUETTE AND PROPER USAGE OF PUBLIC UTILITY SPACES

It is a pain if you are travelling with a troublemaker. Basic manners like offering a seat to the one who needs, allowing people to exit before entering should be taught in schools.

PROCESS OF OPENING BANK ACCOUNTS AND TRANSFERRING MONEY

Majority of the students can’t open a bank account on their own. Students find this simple process very difficult. This is why every student goes through the feeling of embarrassment. The school should be teaching all the basic process regarding the same.

TO DEAL WITH THE FAILURES POSITIVELY

Winning and losing go hand in hand. If someone is winning he may lose someday and vice-versa. But that doesn’t stop there. One has to deal with the situation positively. Every child should be taught in a manner that he knows how to deal the failures of life in a positive way.

SEX EDUCATION

Yes, this is one basic education one should have before ending the high school. All the students learn inevitably about all these from the wrong sources. It is very important to hold discussions about all these in schools and in homes also.

IMPORTANCE OF RELATIONS AND RELATIONSHIPS

It is very important to how to maintain a bond with others. By teaching how to be nice with others, we can inculcate good habits in a child.

Only academic performance is not all that matters, teaching these basic things is the need of the hour nowadays.
