Deepika Padukone has been enlisted among the top five of Forbes India’s 2018 list of the richest Indians. She is the first woman to get here. Deepika’s film, Padmaavat broke numerous records, making her the highest grossing woman celebrity ever. Ranveer Singh is the eighth celebrity with Rs 85.67 crores and Ajay Devgn scored the tenth rank on the list with Rs 74.5 crores.
According to the publications, there are a total of 18 women on the list which was first released in 2012. Actors Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif and sportswomen, PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal have been able to make their position in the top 100.
Superstar Salman Khan is the celebrity who has secured the top position for the third time in a row. With a total earning of Rs 253.25 crores, the megastar of India became the highest paid celebrity on the list. Desi Girl, Priyanka Chopra, lost her last year’s rank of #7 and this time she is on #49 with Rs 18 crore as her total earning in 2018.
Other than the celebrities, Indian cricket captain, Virat Kohli bagged the second spot with Rs 228.09 crore. With this position, he is now the first sportsperson to bag this position, which is otherwise dominated by the people of the glamour world.
Khiladi of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar held the third place with a gross income of Rs 185 crore. Shah Rukh Khan did not have any releases while the period of review so he slipped from his position of #2 to #13 after earning a total of Rs 56 crore this year.
With Rs 97.5 crore as earning, Amir Khan scored #6 and is closely followed by Amitabh Bachchan who is at #7 with Rs 96.17 crore as his earnings. Mahendra Singh Dhoni raked Rs 101.77 crore and was placed at #5.
The period of consideration was October 1, 2017, to September 30, 2018. The total earnings for 2018 amounted to Rs 3,140.25 crore which is also 17% higher than the last year’s total earnings, i.e. Rs 2,683 crore.
