Badshah is a versatile singer, and this has been seen by the world. He has given countless hit songs in the past since the beginning of his journey in the music industry. But with Tareefan, a hit Veere Di Wedding number, Badshah has gotten out of his comfort area and took the responsibility of singing the entire song. Badshah says,
"Qaran has composed it beautifully. Since I found it easy, I decided to sing the entire song rather than just the rap portion. I recorded the song in 20 minutes at my friend, Aditya Dev's place,"Singing the song definitely took less time and he did not see it as a challenge. But what he felt like a challenge was the rap part of the hit number. He adds,
"It took me a good two days to write the rap. After doing a number of practice sessions, I went back to the studio to record it."The singer and the rapper gave the entire credit to Rhea Kapoor for choosing a completely different and less tried direction in the song.
"Thankfully, Rhea and Qaran's vision for the track was the same as mine. They wanted a new-age sound. It's in the R&B and dancehall space, something the Indian audience hasn't heard before."[caption id="attachment_38280" align="alignnone" width="866"] source[/caption] Veere Di Wedding is a project which has eight songs and these songs were handled by four music directors, making the movie a multi-composer project. Some music experts have not shown much interest in such multi composer projects, but Saturday Saturday has a belief that when experts from different fields of music come together and join hands it only makes the project even more interesting.
"I don't know why multi-composer projects are criticised. Creatively, you want to make a good product; it doesn't matter who composes what. Every film is a team effort. Actors, directors, and producers come together for a movie. Similarly, different composers unite to make a good soundtrack. We come from different areas of expertise and if combining our expertise can offer a beautiful soundtrack, what's wrong with that?"Other than his upcoming Bollywood numbers, Namastey England and Nawabzaade, Badshah has a single in his pocket.
"It's unlike my other songs. It represents an emotional journey which I wanted to share with my listeners."
