Dilip Kumar made his Bollywood debut with the movie 'Jwar Bhata' in 1944 which was produced by Bombay Talkies and under the mentorship of Ashok Kumar. Based on his on-screen performances and realism in the movies, Dilip Kumar earned the title of 'Tragedy King' and also known as 'The First Khan' of Bollywood.
The thespian's career spans for almost fifty years in which Dilip Kumar worked in more than 60 movies. To name a few, movies like Ram Aur Shyam, Gunga Jamuna, Mughal-E-Azam, Andaz, Devdas, Daag, Naya Daur, Madhumati, Kohinoor, Aan and much more made him the biggest superstar of Bollywood cinema.
After remaining away for almost five years, Dilip Kumar returned to Bollywood cinema in 1981 with the movie Kranti in which he played the role of Sanga, a dedicated employee of the King. Other famous actors like Manoj Kumar, Shashi Kapoor, Hema Malini, Shatrughan Sinha were also seen in this movie.
