Many times it happens that firstly the movie is announced with a different name but after a while makers change it due to some reason. There are many flicks that faced this change as from Saif Ali Khan’s ‘Elastic’ to ‘Love Aaj Kal’, Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Window Seat’ to ‘Tamasha’, ‘Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum’ to evergreen ‘Veer Zara’, Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor’s ‘Punjab Express’ to ‘Jab We Met’ and many more. The new entry in this list is Shaad Ali’s directorial venture “Flicker Singh” featuring ‘Diljit Dosanjh’ and ‘Tapsee Pannu’. The movie's name is now changed to ‘Singh Soorma’. This biopic is based on former Indian hockey team captain ‘Sandeep Singh’ who managed to make India win the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in 2009. He was famous as ‘drag-flicker’ and for converting penalty corners because of which he is also called as Flicker Singh. That is why the makers first decided to give the title ‘Flicker Singh’. But after a lot of brainstorming team came up with new name ‘Singh Soorma’ which signifies the bravery of a person who did something extraordinary for the pride of the nation. [caption id="attachment_22118" align="alignnone" width="1000"] Tapsee Panu and Diljit Dosanjh[/caption] According to a source, makers think this name is more appropriate for the movie to express the actual bravery of ‘Sandeep Singh’. As Sandeep is also a survivor of an unfortunate accident which happened when he was traveling on a train to join the National hockey team for World Cup in 2006. At that moment he was shot by stray bullet. But with his courage and willpower, he recovered within two years and joined the team in 2012 with a bang in the 2012 London Olympics. That courage of ‘golden boy’ of hockey made ‘Shaad Ali’ to choose it as a subject for the film. With this new name, our excitement level is already a level up. What is your opinion about this???
