Last year Punjabi culture and cinema was put on a Global map with Hollywood Director Kavi Raz's The Black Prince. It also marked the debut of Sufi King Satinder Sartaaj's acting debut. The movie which depicted the story of Maharaja Dalip Singh went on to receive international appreciation. From Los Angeles Film Festival to Manchester International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival, the movie became a center of many. Well, looks like the director of the movie is on a similar path this year as well. According to a leading daily, Kavi Raz is making a Hollywood movie on football. Apparently, this movie will be based on real life as well as fiction. Kavi told the daily that the story will revolve around the 1948 Olympics and the 1950 Olympics. Indian team who lost 2-1 to France in the 1948 Olympics was not allowed to play the game in 1950 because they were barefoot. Apparently, the movie will star Yograj Singh, Rajpal Yadav and Sean Faris in pivotal roles. The crew is already in Punjab and have commenced the shooting. The movie is titled as 'Barefoot Warriors' keeping in mind incident that happened in 1950.
