Many people have the stereotypical thinking that Punjabi movies are only about going abroad and for the NRI audience. Numerous steps have been taken to increase the standards of the Punjabi film industry. But due to some reason or the other, the standard of the film industry could not be uplifted. But with the evolving times, the way of directing the Punjabi movies has also evolved and changed to quite an extent. But thanks to the directors, the perspective of looking at Pollywood has changed completely. With the help of these directors, Punjabi film industry has been able to release some of the most breathtakingly amazing Punjabi films. It was released in 2014 and is a period drama. Diljit Dosanjh received a lot of appreciation and love from the audience and the critics for the character he played in the movie. But the man who was actually behind the success of such an amazing film was the director of the film, Anurag Singh. In the same year, Harry released another movie named ‘Sardar Mohammad’ which helped in increasing the standards of the Punjabi cinema. In the year 2018, Harry is planning on releasing a movie with a new genre named ‘Aate Di Chidi’ which would showcase some of the real issues of the people of Punjab but with a different perspective. It was a directorial debut for both the directors. In the year 2018, Taranvir released Jimmy Shergill and Simi Chahal starrer Daana Paani. The actors did a wonderful task and gave complete justice to their characters, but the man behind developing these characters is Taranvir Singh Jagpal who is taking Punjabi cinema to a totally new level. Amrinder Gill, Sargun Mehta, and Aditi Sharma starrer movie gave all the well-deserved appreciation to the director. This encouraged Simerjit to make another movie named Subedar Joginder Singh, a biopic on Param Vir Chakra recipient Subedar Joginder Singh Sahnan, who won a war against the Chinese army with 21 Sikh soldiers. PANKAJ BATRA [caption id="attachment_38186" align="alignnone" width="480"]Pankaj-batra SOURCE[/caption] Diljit Dosanjh starrer ‘Sajjan Singh Rangroot’ was released in 2018 and was directed by Pankaj Batra. The movie revolves around the Sikh regiment which is forced to go and fight the World War-1. Pankaj was able to bring up two more stories Channo Kamli Yaar Di and Bambukat, which are based on real-life issues prevailing in Punjab.
