Our very own Punjabi-lad Diljit Dosanjh has won over the hearts from Pollywood to Bollywood. With his soulful singing and his par excellence performances in Punjabi and Hindi movies, he has risen as one of the most promising talents. His journey is set to inspire a Bollywood film to be directed by helmer Rohit Jugraj of Jatt James Bond and Sardarji-fame. Jugraj, who has collaborated with Dosanjh in Sardarji and Sardarji 2, shares a great bond with the singer-actor. He plans to make a film on the ‘swag’ of Diljit Dosanjh. Sharing his idea with a leading daily, the director said, “Yes, I am doing a film on, and with Diljit.” Whether the film will be a biopic, is yet to be revealed. Rohit has worked as an assistant to directors Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ram Gopal Verma on various projects. Talking about his latest work to make the film about Diljit Dosanjh, the director told,
Diljit has had a successful and inspiring journey from being a country boy to a film star in his own right. Jugraj’s directorial will record this meteoric rise. The film will be shot entirely in Punjab and the locations have already been recced. The work on the still untitled project has already started. Giving away a tid-bit about the same, Jugraj said,Since Punjab is where I belong to and Bollywood being my passion, I try to create a perfect mix between the two. That's why this idea came to me. Both Punjabi and Hindi will be used in this film.
Primarily a Bollywood project, the film will have Punjabi and Hindi dialogues. However, the director shied away from disclosing the actual premise of the film.I have decided on the locales and unexplored places have been earmarked. No portion will be taken outside Punjab as the film is about the son of Punjab.
