Donald Trump becomes only the 3rd President to get impeached in the history

After the former US presidents Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton, Donald Trump become the third US president to be impeached by the US House of representatives.

At 73 years of age, Donald Trump has been impeached by the US House of representatives as for the charges of abusing power and obstruction in the work of Congress. He even tried to put pressure on Ukraine to investigate his political rival Joe Biden ahead of the 2020 Presidential elections.

Taking this into account, Trump said that the Democratic have consumed this with hatred and added,

“While we’re creating jobs and fighting for Michigan, the radical Left in Congress is consumed with envy and hatred and rage, you see what’s going on, These people are crazy.”

and also added about the votes that took place,

"The Democratic Party was trying to nullify the ballots of tens of millions of patriotic Americans"

By a 230-197 vote in the Democratic majority house, the votes have set up a trial in the Republican-controlled Senate and there the lawmakers will decide whether to convict Donald Trump of the charges or remove him from the office.

But Trump's impeachment doesn't necessarily indicate his removal from the office. It will depend on the Senate's trial to convict him ahead of the presidential elections.

However as the Democrats have the majority in the House, the Republicans control the Senate and we can expect that they will free Donald Trump of the charges as this will require at least 20 Republicans to join the Democrats to vote against him but no one has indicated their will.

Earlier, in 1998 US President Bill Clinton was impeached over his extramarital affair scandal with White House intern Monica Lewinsky, but was later freed by the Senate with a vote of 55-45 as not guilty. Clinton accepted his responsibility of doing wrong in his personal life and pledged to push the country forward.
