The case against Kuldeep Sengar was transferred to Delhi court on the orders of Supreme Court.
Delhi court on Monday convicted the four-time Uttar Pradesh MLA, Kuldeep Sengar, of kidnapping and raping a minor girl in 2017. The court will decide the maximum punishment for the accused tomorrow.
The girl and her family tried their best to convince the UP police to act against the influential BJP politician.
When the family continued their struggle, in April 2018, the father and the brother were thrashed by Sengar’s brother and later arrested on illegal possession of the firearm.
The judge while reading out the verdict said, “A tirade was unleashed upon the girl and her family members... where imprints of the accused Sengar was quite visible.”
In the month of July this year, rape survivor’s two aunts were killed in an accident while they were accompanying her for a court hearing. During this time, the Supreme Court took over the case and later BJP announced the expulsion of Sengar from the party.
