GABRUU BREAKING | 'KANGANA RANAUT' MAKES A MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT ON HER BIRTHDAY

On her birthday, Kangana Ranaut has a return gift for her fans and admirers. The actor, who was last seen in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, is all set to play the titular role in a film based on the life of late Jayalalithaa. Bringing to the big screen the story of one of the most loved actor-turned-politician.

The film will be titled Thalaivi in Tamil and Jaya in Hindi. The bilingual film will be directed by Vijay, who has previously helmed south films like Madrasapattinam and Deiva Thirumagal. 

In an official statement, Kangana opened up about her film and shared that she's honored to be a part of this mega project. She has been quoted as saying,

“Jayalalithaaji is one of the biggest female success stories of this century. She was a superstar and went on to become an iconic politician, it’s a great concept for a mainstream film. I am honored to be a part of this mega project.”

The film will be penned by Baahubali and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi fame KV Vijayendra Prasad and will be produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri & Shailesh R Singh under the banners of Vibri & Karma Media and Entertainment.

Shailesh said in a statement;

“This is my fifth collaboration with Kangana. Working with her is always an enriching experience and I’m glad that this film is based on an eminent personality”. 

Director Vijay, too, shared how the film is a big responsibility and said,

“Jayalalithaa madam was one of the most prominent leaders of our country. Making a film on her life is a big responsibility and we are going to do it with utmost care and honesty. I am proud and happy that a talented actress like Kangana Ranautji will portray the dynamic role of this dynamic leader.”

Besides this, Kangana will also be seen in Mental Hai Kya, co-starring Rajkummar Rao, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's Panga alongside Jassi Gill, Richa Chadha and Neena Gupta and will also bring her own life to the big screen in her biopic.
