An unfortunate incident in April shook away the Punjabi music and cinema industry, when the super talented director cum actor and singer Parmish Verma was shot by gangster Dilpreet Baba. The gangster had been missing since then, but he has been arrested today by the Chandigarh police in a joint Operation with Punjab Police. Dilpreet was arrested from near ISBT Sector 43. The gangster was nabbed after a dramatic chase that saw him open fire at the police forcing retaliatory fire. He was trying to flee when the police party lead by in-charge, Crime branch, UT Amanjot Singh dashed their SUV into his vehicle bringing it to a halt. In the police firing Dilpreet suffered gun shots and was afterwards rushed to PGI. Dilpreet Singh Baba along with gangsters, Dilpreet Singh, Rinda, Harjinder Singh, alias Akash, and Manjit Singh, alias Bobby, had shot Satnam Singh, sarpanch of Khurda village in Garhdiwala, Hoshiarpur, outside a gurdwara in Sector 38, Chandigarh, in April 2017. He had fired on his legs, though the sarpanch died later. Similarly Dilpreet Singh Dhahan’s accomplice Harvinder Singh, alias Rinda, also suspected to be involved in the attack on Parmish, had shot a Panjab University leader in his thighs.
