Prominent Punjabi singer Garry Sandhu had been living in the UK since 2002 but under a different identity. Thereafter the actor-singer claimed an asylum which got refused by the UK Border Agency. The singer rose to fame in 2010 with 'Main Ni Peenda' and gave one after another hits like ‘Dil De De,’ ‘Fresh,’ ‘Sahan To Pyariya’ and ‘Tohar’. This resulted into immense growth of Garry's fans both in the UK and abroad. Not just an increase of fan base his popularity earned him the ‘Best Male Act’ award at the 2011 Brit Asia Awards. That's when the trouble begun, haters could not gulp in his success anymore and played all the tactics for the downfall of the songster. As expected the UK immigration authorities fell for the tactical pits by haters and Garry was at last deported in 2013.
