Sequels have always been an experiment to get a hit film. But even if the fashion of making the sequel continues, it has been seen that the story of the sequel is completely different from the original story, with an entirely different concept. But this time, Punjabi filmmakers breaking this trend and starting the sequel where the prequel ended. Tarsem Jassar and Simi Chahal’s 2018 blockbuster hit Rabb Da Radio is now all set with its second part, ‘Rabb Da Radio 2’.
Other than the lead pair, ‘Rabb Da Radio 2’ will also star BN Sharma, Avtar Gill, Nirmal Rishi, Jagjeet Sandhu, Harby Sangha, Gurpreet Bhangu, Shivandra Mahal, Sunita Dhir, Tania, and Baljinder Kaur in important roles. Manpreet Johal is co-producing this film with Ashu Munish Sahi under Vehli Janta films and Omjee group banner, respectively. Sharan Art has helmed the film and Jass Grewal has written the story. Music of the film will be released under the label of Vehli Janta Records.
The teaser of the film is out under the official YouTube channel of Vehli Janta Records. The story will begin where it was concluded in the first part. The sequel of the film will be showcasing the relations after Manjinder and Guddi’s marriage.
The lead hero of the film, Tarsem Jassar said,
“Rabb Da Radio is very close to my heart. It introduced me as an actor. And we are blessed with the response from the audience. So, for Rabb Da Radio 2 we have tried our best so that we can live up to the expectations of audiences. I just hope people will love my work as always.”
The leading lady of ‘Rabb Da Radio 2’, Simi Chahal said,
“Guddi is one character which has not only helped evolve me as an actor but as a person also. So, I am excited to play it again. This time she is more mature but retaining her same old innocence. I just hope Rabb Da Radio 2 will also be able to mark its place in everyone’s heart.”
Producers of the film, Manpreet Johal and Ashu Munish Sahni said,
“We always try to promote good content. Producing the sequel of a classic film like Rabb Da Radio is very risky, but as always we are confident about our product and concept. Now, we just wish audiences will accept this with open arms”.
Munish Sahni’s Omjee Group is the worldwide distributor of the film. The film is all set to hit the theatres on 29th March 2019.
