Yuvraj Singh is an Indian international cricketer who has played all forms of the game. He is an all-rounder who is a left-handed batsman and bowls slow left-arm orthodox. Yuvraj is the son of former Indian fast bowler Yograj Singh, who also happens to be a Punjabi actor.
Since 2000, he has been a member of the Indian cricket team in the ODIs and he played his first match in 2033. He has also been the vice-captain of the team between 2007 and 2008. He has had many top performances throughout his cricket career but none of them could beat his performance during the 2007 World Twenty20 against England where he shot 6 sixes in one over bowled by Stuart Broad. It was during the same match that he set the record of scoring fastest fifty in Twenty20 Internationals. He scored 50 runs in 12 balls.
But all was not well for the cricket sensation. In 2011, Yuvraj was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his left lung. Immediately he left for his treatment in Boston and Indianapolis. Of course initially, he was a little scared because he thought that it was the end of his career for him. But then he started reading Lance Armstrong and got inspired from his writings and experiences. During his treatment, he also said that cancer does not mean death. He said to always be positive and to take the right advice. He further added that if there’s an issue in the system then it is better not to ignore it. According to Yuvraj, if one is strong, then he automatically is a positive person.
Yuvraj Singh returned to the pavilion in 2012 with Twenty-Twenty against New Zealand and thereby made a grand comeback.
Realizing what cancer and its treatment does to the people; Yuvraj founded his own foundation named YouWeCan. It has been established to create awareness about the disease and fight it courageously.
Yuvraj Singh is now a happily married man, and his wife is British-Mauritian model, Hazel Keech. The two got engaged in November 2015 but the two got married after a year in November 2017. During the wedding ceremony, Hazel adopted her Punjabi name Gurbasant Kaur, which was given to her by Sant Balvinder Singh.
But throughout his ups and downs in his personal life and professional, Yuvraj has shown that being strong-willed and positive is all it takes for a person to rise from the ashes.
The entire team of Gabruu.com wishes Yuvraj Singh, the legend in Indian cricket and an inspiration for many a happy birthday. We wish that his former years are full of happiness, growth, and prosperity.
