Karan Johar, who has produced Abhishek Varman's Kalank, quenched the curiosity of fans to some extent by sharing an update about the forthcoming film which stars Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha in the leads.
Yesternight, Karan posted a picture which cannot be called the first look, but he did share the story behind the film's origin. In his post, the filmmaker described Kalank as a film that was born in his "heart and mind 15 years ago." In his post, Karan revealed that Kalank was his late father Yash Johar's dream project and wrote:
"The last film my father worked on before he left us. It was his dream to see this film come through."
In his post, the director-producer also revealed that the film, which has been "woven, nurtured and visualized" by Abhishek Varman, is set in the Forties. He cryptically hinted that the film's first look will be unveiled on Thursday. Tomorrow the journey begins... I am excited, anxious and emotional about this one. I do hope you join us on our path to undying love."

Meanwhile, Karan Johar and the entire cast of Kalank, shared another update on their respective Instagram accounts and wrote: Kalank unravels from tomorrow" where they revealed the first motion poster for the upcoming period drama.
Apart from this, the makers of ‘Kalank’ also revealed the first look poster of Varun Dhawan as Zafar. The poster features him as a man with kohl eyes, pierced ears and long wavy hair. In his 8-years long career it would be the first time when he will be donning a long hair look.
This has been followed by the introduction of the other two men from the film ie Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt. Have a look;
Kalank has been produced under Karan Johar's production house Dharma Productions. The film's impressive ensemble cast includes Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha.
The period drama went on floors in April last year and the film's final schedule was wrapped in January this year. Kalank is scheduled to release on April 19 and we just can’t wait for it.
