In the last couple of years, Bollywood has seen a drastic growth in the number of old songs being recreated in the movies. This is not it as now most of the classic hits are now being used in the film and daily soap titles. If we look back then we have heard songs such as Dum Maaro Dum, Khoya Khoya Chaand and Ek Do Teen to name a few and how can we forget Nora Fatehi's Dilbar.
Now, we have got to hear that another yesteryear hit number will be joining the bandwagon. You all must have heard Urmila Matondkar’s chartbuster song Chamma Chamma. The song from Rajkumar Santoshi’s 1998 film China Gate, is all set to be recreated for the Arshad Warsi-starrer, Fraud Saiyaan.
As per reports, the makers of this film have reached out to the Swedish actress Elli Avram who has been roped in to step into Urmila’s shoes.
The song is composed by Tanishk Bagchi and it will also feature Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla. Romi, Arun and Neha Kakkar have given their vocals for the song. The song will also feature a rap by Ikka. The song will be directed and choreographed by Adil Sheikh.
Elli who is looking forward to being a part of this song said,
“I love the song and adore Urmila Matondkar in it. I got really excited when I was called to Tips office for this song. It’s an epic one and I hope I can match Urmilas energy and enigma in the remake."
Kumar Taurani of Tips who has the original rights to the song and also have the music for Fraud Saiyaan, shares,
"Chamma Chamma is an iconic song and we are glad that its recreation just like the original has received an outstanding and positive response! We are happy that we got an opportunity through Fraud Saiyaan to re-introduce the song to the newer generation and give this experience to the loyal music listeners as well."
Well, it would be interesting to see what magic this Swedish beauty will create in the new version of this song.
Directed by Sourabh Shrivastava and Produced by Disha Prakash Jha and Kanishk Gangwal, the film stars Arshad Warsi, Saurabh Shukla and Sara Loren. The film will be hitting the screens on January 18, 2019.
