While traveling from the Central Secretariat to Lajpat Nagar, Gurpreet Singh lost his wallet in a Delhi metro. He realized it when he exited Lajpat Nagar metro station. He immediately rushed to the customer care but Metro officials failed to find the wallet. But, after 11 days of losing his wallet, he received a parcel from India Post. "On 26 March I received a parcel from India Post, which had my wallet and a letter," said Gurpreet. The moment he opened the parcel, he felt with rejoices. All his lost documents on 15 March were safely reached to him. The parcel includes his wallet and a letter. He found that all his documents including Aadhaar card, driving license, two debit cards, pan card, one metro card, pictures, sim cards along with the cash Rs 516 were in it. Moreover, the letter accompanying the wallet, which Gurpreet shared on Facebook include "I found your wallet on the Delhi Metro and I'm sending you the same". The wallet was found by a Noida resident Siddharth Mehta, who wrote the letter as well signed it off with a smile and his contact number. Praising Siddharth's honesty, Gurpreet thanks him through the Facebook post that collected many positive comments. Some commented on humanity while others on honesty. Later, when the post started gaining popularity, Siddharth commented: “Thanks a lot to everyone for the kind words, I did nothing great but returned the wallet to where it belonged!” What will you do if you find someone's lost belonging? Honesty is the best policy and one must follow it like Siddharth did. Even, in case, you don't get any address on any lost thing in a metro, Lost And Found Department of Delhi Metro is the place where you can deposit it.
