Rape is an evil of any society. But this evil has scored a heavy number in India. It is the fourth most committed crime in the country. With the reports of recent cases like Kathua and Unnao, the whole nation once again came together to fight against this evil. While people came out to streets, Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal went on a hunger strike. It has been more than a week and she has not ended her fast yet. Swati's demands - death penalty for rapists of a minor, setting up of fast-track courts to complete the trial in such cases in six months, recruitment of 66,000 police personnel in Delhi police and better forensic labs. The singer went to the capital and visited DCW Chief. Apparently, he also took the stage and showed his support towards DCW Chief's demands. It was later that he took to the social media saying her demands must be met.

So important for men to stand up. Thank you.Wrote another fan. A ray of hope came yesterday when it was reported that an ordinance to provide death penalty to those convicted of raping a child up to 12 years of age is likely to come up before the Union Cabinet on Saturday. The government told the Supreme Court on Friday that the process to amend the POCSO (Protection of Childern from Sexual Offences) Act has been launched, and the special legislation would include death penalty as punishment for raping children under 12.
