INDIAN FLAG SEEN WITHOUT THE ASHOKA CHAKRA BEFORE WOMEN'S HOCKEY WORLD CUP

The Women's Hockey World Cup is all set to start in london on 21st July, but before the beginning of the tournament, the organisers made a big mistake when they omitted the Ashoka Chakra in the Indian flag during the promotional shoot. The captains of all the teams were seen standing next to their national flags. And it was then that the Ashoka Chakra was seen missing from the tri-color flag. A report from the leading dailies assumes that it is unknown if the issue has been brought i [caption id="attachment_43287" align="alignnone" width="529"]INDIAN FLAG Source: Twitter[/caption] nto the notice of the officials or not, considering that this is a major blunder which cannot be ignored by the authorities. The team of Indian Women has reached the World Cup 7th time ever. The best game they played was at the inaugural session in 1974, when the team finished with fourth position. After sometime, England Hockey shared another picture of all the teams and their captains and in that picture, the Ashoka Chakra was visible. Ranil Rampal who is the Indian women's skipper said during the launch, "We’re feeling really good ahead of Saturday and we look forward to soaking up the atmosphere, which I am sure will be amazing as we take on the host country. The World Cup is always competitive but we hope to still be in the competition by the knockout stages and then you never know." The Indian team is all set to start its campaign against the England team on 21st July. The team will play against Ireland on 26th July and against USA on 29th July in Pool B encounters. Overall, there are 4 pools in the entire tournament- A to D- whose winners will directly qualify for the quarter finals. For the second and the third position, the teams would have to play off matches.
