JACKIE SHROFF TO PLAY YAMRAJ OF 21ST CENTURY IN HIS THIRD PUNJABI MOVIE

After the recent controversy that struck Pollywood’s celebrities Miss Pooja and Harish Verma for depicting Yamraj in a negative light in their song Jeeju now bollywood’s tough man Jackie Shroff will be playing Yamaraj in his next Punjabi film, 'Jagga Jiunda Ae'. Where Jackie will be seen portraying the role of Yamaraj the character of Chitragupta will be played by Gurpreet Ghuggi, who according to sources is called Chitra Singh. The movie will show Yamlok in the modern, digital era. Adding a dash of his signature statement to Yamaraj,Jackie will be seen wearing trendy outfits and showing his love for the digital world today. However, considering the sensitivity of the character and religious sentiments, the producers have been extra careful in profiling this character. Daljeet Kalsi, who is in the lead role opposite Kainaat Arora in the film, said

Ours is the first Punjabi film touching the subject of Yamlok. Jackie’s portrayal will not hurt any religious sentiments. We kept every aspect, religious or social, in mind before assigning things. We are showing progress keeping Yamaraj and Yamlok as base.It took us long to zero in on the actor to play Yamaraj. And Jackie, being Bollywood’s bindaas guy, turned out to be an ultimate choice.
This is Jackie’s third Punjabi film, earlier he appeared in Sardar Saab and Lucky Di Unlucky Story. The movie will also throw light on the progress in Yamlok. Since everything has advanced and is becoming digitalized, the movie will show how computers and advanced software are used to keep track of deaths and people’s karma.
