Bollywood will remember 2018 as one black year of big loss. The film industry lost the most iconic actress and legend of all times, Sridevi on February 24. She passed away due to accidental drowning in her bathtub in Dubai. At the 65th National Film Awards, Sridevi was posthumously honored with the Best Actress award for her outstanding performance in the film 'Mom'. On behalf of Sridevi, this award was received by her husband Boney Kapoor, daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor. After the awards were announced in April, Sridevi's family released an official statement saying that,
We are overjoyed to know that the jury has conferred the best actor award to Sridevi for her performance in MOM. It's a very special moment for all of us. She was always a perfectionist and it showed in all the 300 plus films she did. She was not just a super actor but a super wife and a super mom. It's time to celebrate her life and her achievements. She is not with us today but her legacy will always live on.On the day of the Award Ceremony in Delhi, while talking to the media about Sridevi and her win, Boney Kapoor brought their daughter Janhvi Kapoor forward. While interacting with the media Janhvi said,
I think both of us (Khushi and I) would like to thank the jury for recognizing the hard work, perseverance and dedication that my mother has put into this role. It was very special to her and we are very happy that she is being appreciated for it.https://youtu.be/JUKQah4pJM4 Janhvi Kapoor also thanked the Government of India for honoring her mother with such a prestigious Award. On the contrary, earlier this month it was also reported that Boney Kapoor might be producing a documentary or biography based on the life of his late wife Sridevi. For this documentary three names "Sri", Sridevi" and "Sri Ma'am" have been registered by Boney Kapoor.
