Curd rice? Every south Indian will have a big yes for this question. It is easy to cook, high on protein and helps keep your stomach cool. Also as south India has hot climate throughout the year, curd rice helps bring down the body temperature. Almost every south Indian, unless they are lactose intolerant, will end their meal with a serving of curd rice. Ami Turakhia, dietician and founder, Diet Castle, says,

It helps in curing Stomach pain Rice is a good source of magnesium and potassium, which helps reduce stomach cramps and pain. “Curd rice is beneficial for premenstrual cramps as well,” says Turakhia. It helps in your digestion        The reason it is often consumed at the end of the meal is because it helps digest the food better. It improves your immunity The pro-biotics in curd helps improve immunity and makes the body capable of fighting diseases.
