President Rule was imposed in Maharashtra state as the political parties were unable to form a stable government until today when it was revoked and finally the state got its Government formed.
Finally, BJP-NCP joined hands together to form the Maharashtra Government and the President's rule was revoked at 5.47 am on November 23, 2019.
President Ram Nath Kovind issued the proclamation for revocation of the central rule today morning. The gazette notification to this effect was issued by the Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar.
Devendra Fadnavis (Bharatiya Janta Party) and Ajit Pawar (Nationalist Congress Party) took the oath being the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister respectively of Maharashtra state. The Governor B.S. Koshyari administered the oath to the two leaders at Raj Bhawan.
On the formation of Maharashtra Government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah, and BJP Working President JP Nadda congratulated the CM and Deputy CM of the state.
They expressed the confidence required in the development and welfare of the Maharashtra state.
CONTROVERSIES GET ROLLING IN
While addressing at a joint press conference in Mumbai, Sharad Pawar (NCP) leader shared that his nephew Ajit Pawar's decision is an act of discipline as an NCP worker will never be in favor of NCP-BJP government formation.
Taking this into account, the NCP MLA Rajendra Shingane told that they were misled.
Sharad Pawar further added that they cannot rule out a possibility of cheating the governor and Ajit Pawar must have submitted a ready-made list of NCP MLAs. Later added that the decision was Ajit's to support BJP
Supriya Sule, Sharad Pawar's daughter also shared on her WhatsApp status stating that "there is a split in the party and family" and also shared another status which read as under,
Uddhav Thackeray, Chief of Shiv Sena party also reacted to the government's formation and said "It is a Surgical Strike. You did the same thing in Haryana, Bihar. Don't ploy midnight plots" and added that it was like backstabbing Shiv Sena.
