Though Meghna Gulzar’s success was a standstill, she recently has directed three major films that got her fame and recognition for her work.
In 2015, Meghna Gulzar made a film titled Talvar. The film was based on a true incident happened in Noida in which a young girl and family servant were murdered. She made this film along with Vishal Bhardwaj and starred some of the top names from the industry. Though the film was not appreciated by the masses, the critics lauded the team’s efforts.
Later in 2018, she wrote one of the most powerful roles for Alia Bhatt with Sehmat in Raazi. It was not only the actors who were appreciated massively but even the filmmaker and dialogue writer Meghna Gulzar was lauded for her knack of filmmaking. With this, she yet again proved that nobody could tell real-life stories better than her.
And now, in 2019 with Chhapaak she has proven to be the queen of the real-life storyteller. Starring Deepika Padukone as the lead actor, the film is getting a lot of acknowledgment and recognition for bringing forth such a sensitive issue to the limelight.
These three films are based on real-life stories and have left an everlasting impression on the masses. Seems like Meghna Gulzar has finally found the formula for making blockbusters!
Even her forthcoming film has a real-life touch to it. She has collaborated with Vicky Kaushal for a film based on the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. Meghna Gulzar is directing it and we can only wonder what it’ll be like after seeing the duo work previously together in Raazi.
