Prime Minister Narendra Modi has surprised everyone by announcing that he will be quitting the social media handles on Sunday. Soon after he made an announcement, Twitter exploded and left everyone in speculation.
Modi tweeted and said, “This Sunday, thinking of giving up my social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & YouTube. Will keep you all posted.” The tweet got 25, 000 likes within half an hour of posting.

Soon after PM’s tweet, reactions started pouring in. Congress
leader Rahul Gandhi was among the first ones to comment and said, “Give up hatred, not social media accounts.”
Shashi Tharoor, Congress MP, also responded to the tweet by Prime Minister. He claimed that this sudden announcement by the PM can be speculated as a step towards banning the social media handles in the country.
PM Modi is a social media celebrity who is followed by millions of people on various social media platforms. After tweeting this, he did not disclose the reason why he wishes to quit social media.
