Akshay Kumar-starrer Pad Man is releasing worldwide today and the promotional activities for the film have been trending on social media for quite a long time now. Special mention must be done for #padmanchallenge which began from the inspiration of the movie, Arunachalam Muruganantham, who extended the challenge to the film's team and the world. Bollywood came out in full support of the social message that their's nothing to be ashamed about periods and sanitary pads. And Pollywood is also not far behind. Punjabi entertainment industry took up the challenge and celebrities posted their pictures holding pads. Rico, the talented singer whose last single 24x7 is a friendship anthem throughout, accepted the dare and posted this pic on his Instagram: [caption id="attachment_29402" align="alignnone" width="1080"] Source: Ricoofficial69/Instagram[/caption] His caption read:

He captioned the post rather meaningfully,
"Some people will feel weird that I am holding #PAD in my hand. Lets not feel ashamed. This is as natural as ur birth. Respect your birth lady and every other woman. U Are bcoz THEY ARE! #padman@akshaykumar "[caption id="attachment_29405" align="alignnone" width="1080"] Source: vaibhav_kelay/Instagram[/caption] He has also challenged singer Ninja, music director JSL Singh, actresses Oshin Brarr and Simi Chahal. Let's wait for them accepting the dare! It's always special when men stand by such a cause. Young-gun and award-winning actor of short film Zubaan, also held a pad for the movement and also included the director and actors of Pad Man in his post.
"Yes there is a pad in my hand and there is nothing to be ashamed it’s natural ! Period ! Accepted the challenge #akshaykumar Sir #rbalki sir #sonamkapoor mam#radhikaapte mam #sonypictures"Meanwhile, singer Sara Gurpal, whose latest single 'Kash Koe' is winning kudos from the glitz world as well as her fans, had also taken to Instagram to do her bit for the PadMan Challenge. She posted: [caption id="attachment_29403" align="alignnone" width="798"] Source: saragurpals/Instagram[/caption] The first Pollywood actress to complete the challenge was film Channa Mereya's leading lady, Paayal Rajput, who had already put up a picture five days ago. Take a look: [caption id="attachment_29422" align="alignnone" width="799"] Source: rajputpaayal/Instagram[/caption] Punjabi model Ruhani Sharma, who was dared to hold the pad on social media by Sara Gurpal reacted this way: [caption id="attachment_29404" align="alignnone" width="805"] Source: ruhanisharma94/Instagram[/caption] Indeed, there's nothing to feel weird or unusual about menstruation or sanitary napkins. Period is as natural a process as a man getting beard and moustaches. And pads are nothing but hygienic and healthy. Pollywood's stars raising social flags is definitely a positive road to trail on.
