“I want the fee of those 12 wasteful years back. Yours not obediently, Jagsir Singh”. Is this one line from the trailer compelling enough for you to go and support Jagga for the cause of the youth?
Jagga is Amrit Maan’s character from the upcoming Punjabi film ‘Do Dooni Panj’ who is all out there, very courageously and boldly, ready to challenge the education system. The former one-liner dialogue is something that really makes us feel what Jagga went through that actually made him step up forward and take such a step. Amrit Maan’s compelling voice adds that extra weight to this dialogue.
Amrit Maan started his journey as a lyricist and got instant recognition when Diljit Dosanjh sang a song ‘Fire Karda’ which was written by the former. After getting recognition as a lyricist, he soon added a new feather in his hat by becoming a singer. The Punjabi artist got fame and success with his debut song ‘Desi Da Drum’. The song was extremely popular and a massive hit number among the Punjabi listeners.
I mean, have you heard his songs ‘Muchh Te Mashook’, ‘Bamb Jatt’, ‘Difference’, ‘Pegg Di Washna’, and ‘Trending Nakhra’? All his songs have been major hit Punjabi songs which have made us believe that he is in the race for a long time and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Moreover, his songs have never been below average, the kind of love and support the fans shower on him is not shocking at all.
For this, the credit should be given to his choice of songs that are enjoyed by young and the old alike. It’s like he knows the pulse of the Punjabi audience and knows exactly what kind of work to do. He very smartly analyses the market before picking up a project.
Then he added another feather in his hat of success when he was seen in ‘Channa Mereya’ as an antagonist. He then did a cameo appearance in Neeru Bajwa and Amberdeep Singh starrer, ‘Laung Laachi’. Despite having small but strong and impactful roles in both the films, Amrit left the audience in awe of his acting skills. These roles turned this ‘Bamb Jatt’ into a promising actor.
And now his role in the upcoming Punjabi film is so resilient and gutsy that it will surely give us the next superstar of the Punjabi cinema. Amrit Maan has proved his mettle in every field he has ventured into. His signature mucch, those expressive eyes and the powerful voice have definitely earned him a solid spot in our hearts as well as in the industry.
Now we are really looking forward to seeing him as Jagga because whatever the climax of Do Dooni Panj may be, we are simply blown away that statement on the top!
‘Do Dooni Panj’ is helmed by Harry Bhatti and is being produced by APRA Films, Badshah’s production house. The film is all set to hit the theatres on 11th January.
