Priyanka Chopra is in top headlines for her marriage with US singer Nick Jonas next month. Celebrations are rife with the bride-to-be on a bachelorette trip with her friends and future sister-in-law Sophie Turner. But personal commitments can never hemper this diva's professional life and she has proved the same yet again. The release date of her next production venture was announced recently.
Priyanka Chopra had started her film production company Purple Pebble Pictures and supports regional cinema through the banner. She has already invested in a Punjabi movie (Sarvann), Marathi (Ventilator) and Assamese film (Bhoga Khidikee ). In her quest to "tell stories differently", she is now ready to release the Sikkimese film 'Pahuna-The Little Visitors' on December 7.
Pahuna- The Little Visitors is a story of three children who are separated from their parents while fleeing Nepal and try to make a family together. It is directed by Paakhi A Tyrewala and co-produced by Children's Film Society, India (CFSI). The film has travelled many international film festivals, including its opening at Cannes in May last year.
The film has also garnered positive response at the Toronto International Film Festival last year and Indian Kaleidoscope Film Festival in New York.
The impending marriage, reportedly in Jodhpur on December 2 and a Christian wedding followed by it, will be a three-day feat, starting November 30. And from the looks of it, Priyanka will get busy with Pahuna right after the nuptials. Well, the film has received love on international platforms and it's only apt that it releases for the wider audiences. If her previous ventures like Sarvann and Ventilator are any proof, Priyanka has an eye for profitable stories that need to be told and we wish her the best for the Sikkimese film too.
