Punjabi singer Harman Sidhu known for his 2015 hit song against 'Chitta' (Heroin) has been arrested by Haryana Police with 52 grams of Heroin along with four other accomplices. He is now in custody of Sirsa police.
According to reports, the Sirsa police had laid a naka under the command of SP Hamid Akhtar when they found heroin from the car during checking. Inspector Dhale Ram said five occupants of Honda city car were arrested under NDPC Act. The police has registered a case against six persons including a supplier of heroin.
He further added; "A total of 52.1 grams of heroin, which is worth around Rs 5.20 lakh, was found when the police investigated the Honda City in which the five were travelling."
Inspector Dhale Ram, in-charge of the CIA, Sirsa, said, “We got a tip-off that the accused were coming in a Honda City car from Fatehabad side.”
Police has also confirmed that all five were heroin addicts. “They were coming from Delhi after getting their supply from Delhi. Some of them consumed drugs while Harman used to sell the drug in Mansa,” said the CIA official.
The accused have been identified as Harman Sidhu of Khayala Kalan village in Mansa district, Ramnik Singh son of Pritpal Singh resident of Mansa, Surjit Singh Kamboj Sirsa, Manoj Kumar Sirsa, and Annu Arora also from Sirsa. Rannik was driving the car.
Harman has given duet songs like 'Mobile' and 'Mela' along with Punjab singer Miss Pooja. His song Chitta was a hit and came in when Punjab was and is still titled as heaven for drug smugglers.
