Job creation in India is a current hot topic. Even the government is criticized several times for not creating enough jobs as promised every year. Much to the relief of young aspirants, railways has invited applications for about one lakh vacancies for engineers, class 10 pass outs, and others for different locations. Surprisingly the railways have received over 2 crore applications with still five days to go for the last date of registration. The online examination will be held for about 90,000 posts for group C and group D and 9,500 openings in the Railway Protection Force. According to a Railway Ministry official,
Till date over 2 Crore candidates have applied for the posts and the number will rise further as five more days remain before the deadline comes to an end.The official has also mentioned that over 50 Lakh applications have been received only for the post of Loco Pilots and Technicians but only 26,502 posts are vacant and for group D, only 62,907 posts are open for recruitment. The candidates will get question papers in 15 languages, namely- Hindi, English, Urdu, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Konkani, Odia, Assamese, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Kannada and Punjabi. This has been done to ensure opportunities for candidates across India. Given the magnitude and the level at which the test is being conducted, the candidates will get a window to check their answers after the test completion and after the results are declared to maintain transparency.
