Rajpal Yadav, the man famous for his excellent comic timing was convicted in a loan recovery case by a court in New Delhi but has been granted bail by Delhi's Karkardooma Court. The case dates back to 2010 where he and his wife took a loan of Rs. 5 Crore from Madhav Gopal Aggarwal. Rajpal was sentenced to 6-months imprisonment as the cheques he paid got bounced due to insufficient balance in his bank accounts. Later in an interview, Yadav had claimed that Madhav Gopal Aggarwal had invested Rs 5 crore through his company, Murali Projects for Yadav's directorial debut film, 'Ata Pata Laapata'. He also said that he lost Rs.17 Crores as the film did not do well at the boxoffice. On the other hand, Aggarwal's lawyer- SK Sharma, stated that the amount of Rs 5 crore was given to Yadav as a loan and it was not an investment in the film. The actor however, has been claiming that Aggarwal had not loaned the money to him, it was an investment. Aggarwal's lawyer has claimed that Yadav had issued 8 cheques worth Rs 11,68,00,000, which included the principal amount as well as the interest accrued on it, however, all the cheques were dishonoured due to insufficient funds and hence a complaint was filed against him. Sharma also stated that the agreement they had signed with Yadav clearly stated that irrespective of the performance of the film, the principal amount should be returned with interest as it was a joint venture. On the professional front, it has now been quite long that Rajpal has been seen on the silver screen. We wish for his comeback soon.
