It is disheartening to know that the Bollywood industry is not free of the Casting Couch syndrome. Sadly, both actors and actresses have fallen victim of the casting couch mentality. With the ongoing #Me Too Times up Movement, several celebrities in India and from all over the world were given the platform to talk about the times they were asked for sexual favours. To this end, the television actor, Karan Tacker also revealed that he has been faced with the same situation. He made this known while speaking on his success in the industry. Surprisingly, he was asked for sexual favours from a high profile casting director who happens to be the same person who approached Ranveer Singh in his early days. He was quoted by a leading daily saying, “I saw this interview of Ranveer, and realized that it was the same guy; a casting director/coordinator agent who said, ‘I’ll ask you a question, whether you will work hard or smart’. Funny part is that he’s still a part of the industry, still casting, still doing things.” In 2015 if you remember, Ranveer Singh spoke about the struggles he faced at the initial stage of his career. The casting director told him to ‘take and touch’ and be ‘smart and sexy’ if he wanted to make it big in the industry. “Later I got to know what he was interested in. When I said ‘no’, he was heartbroken like a jilted lover,” Ranveer said. Karan Tacker further spoke on all the challenges he had to face. From taking trains home to getting very little wages, he also said that he still comes in contact with people who asks for sexual favours. But he gives an advise suitable for all newbies. He said, “It depends on which way you want to go. I suggest people do the right thing. This period makes you understand the industry better and gives you a good story when people ask how hard it was for you”. Meanwhile, Karan is reportedly roped in for the 'Student of the Year' sequel.
