Back in 2008, the movie 'Singh Is Kinng' ruled the box office. The Anees Bazmee directorial made the audience laugh their heads off. It starred Akshay Kumar, Sonu Sood and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. People loved the comedy flick so much that, they eagerly waited for a sequel which never happened. But finally, after almost a decade since Sing Is Kinng, makers have decided to bring out the sequel to the movie. With the sequel, the name of the franchise will also be changed to Sher Singh. Not only the name but a lot of things is being changed. The first installment was produced by Vipul Shah and this will be produced by Shailendra Singh. The biggest change is the starcast. Everyone fell in love with Akshay Kumar as Happy Singh in the first installment. But sadly, Sher Singh will not star him in the lead. Apparently, Akshay is being replaced by Ranveer Singh. According to reports by DNA, it is being said that Ranveer is happy with the idea. But he said he will only do it after getting a nod from Akshay. On the same, DNA quoted Director Anees Bazmee, "Audiences would have a lot of expectations from the sequel. I am sure the team would leave no stone unturned to match or surpass the benchmark. I wish them success. I sincerely think Akshay playing Singh's character would do justice, but Ranveer is a fine performer." "He has to go deep to play Happy Singh's character. Anyway, they have my blessings. May the audience accept Ranveer as wholeheartedly as they accepted Akshay." added the filmmaker.
