Ranveer Singh to work with Ali Abbas Zafar in Mr. India 2?

Shekhar Kapur gave India one of the best and most enjoyable films of all time with epic 1987 film, Mr. India. The film gave a big boost to the acting career of Anil Kapoor and Sridevi and soon they became the favorite of every filmmaker. Even the antagonist, Amrish Puri as Mogambo was as good as the protagonists and the famous dialogue, “Mogambo khush hua” still rules the hearts of the masses.

For a lot of time, it was being said that Boney Kapoor, the producer of the original film was thinking of remaking the sci-fi drama and was planning on taking Salman Khan for the role of Mogambo. However, things did not work out and the project never happened.

Now there is a buzz that Ali Abbas Zafar and Ranveer Singh are coming together for the revised version of the female. The temporary name of the film is Mr. India 2.

A source was quoted saying, “It's neither a sequel nor a remake, but more of a spin-off of the original film set in the modern times. The film is in the pre-production stage and Ali has already locked the first draft of the script. Taking a cue from Mr. India is a big deal, and Ali is being cautious with every step that he is taking." What about the role of Mogambo? It's the most iconic character in the history of Indian cinema and they are looking to cast a top superstar for the role.”

The sources also confirmed that 'Mr. India 2' will release in 2022 and other details of the same are being kept under the carpet.

However, before this big film, Ranveer Singh has other films in his kitty. He will be seen in ’83, Takht and Jayeshbhai Jordaar.

On the other hand, Ali Abbas Zafar is banking Bollywood flick, Khaali Peeli which will star Ananya Pandey and Ishaan Khatter in the lead roles.
