Once in every generation, a true genius is born who changes how the world is seen or transforms. Steve Jobs was one such person who is known as the American tech entrepreneur and the co-founder, chief executive and chairman of Apple Computer. He served as the main mentor of products including iPod, iPhone, and iPad.

He was born in the year 1955 in San Francisco, California and stayed in the area of Mountain View which is now known as the Silicon Valley of America.

STEVE JOBS: EARLY LIFE AND CAREER

He was a smart person but have no directions where he wanted to go. He even dropped out of college and started pursuing different experiments and co-founded Apple with his friend, Steve Wozniak in the year 1976 when he was just 21 years old. Both of them started Apple Computers in Wozniak's family garage and funded this venture by selling his Volkswagen bus whereas Steve Wozniak sold his scientific calculator.

Being the founders of Apple Computer, both of them gave the world a technology which was cheaper to use, intuitive and accessible to all customers on day to day basis.

Before that in 1974, he took the position of a video game designer with Atari. After a few months, he left the company and travelled to India to find spiritual enlightenment and experiment with psychedelic drugs.

Wozniak's idea of the user-friendly personal computer gave a boost to Apple Computer and initially sold each computer at the price of 666.66 USD and earned around 7,74 lakhs USD. Later, Apple's second model known as the Apple II was released which further gave a sales boost of up to 700% thereby earning 139 million USD.

Finally, in the year 1980, Apple Computer became a public company and Steve Jobs approached John Sculley of Pepsi Cola to handle the role of CEO of Apple. Later, IBM surpassed Apple in sales as Apple suffered significant flaws in its design of personal computers and thus the competition between Apple and IBM started.

Later in 1985, Steve Jobs left the company and launched Pixar Animation Studios but returned to Apple Computers in 1997 as the CEO. Steve Jobs's success for his company Apple computer is credited in the 1970s and even in the 1990s when he returned back to Apple.

Steve Jobs re-organized the company with a new management team, did some changes in the stock options and put Apple Computer back on track. Products like iMac caught the attention of customers all around the world because of their stylish designs and brand campaigns. Later, Apple also introduced products such as Macbook Air laptops along with a new generation of iPhones, iPods. This gave rise to the competition where other companies started manufacturing products of similar scale and technology.

In 2008, Apple became the second-biggest music retailer in the USA, the first being Walmart as iTunes and iPod sales helped to achieve good revenues. Apple also got recognized as No. 1 on the Fortune magazine list of "America's Most Admired Companies" and No.1 among Fortune 500 companies.

STEVE JOBS BATTLE WITH CANCER, DEATH

In 2003, Steve Jobs came to know that he is suffering from Neuroendocrine Tumour which is simply known as a rare form of Pancreatic Cancer but he postponed his surgery and preferred some other treatment options by altering his diet. However, in 2004, Steve Jobs underwent the surgery which was successful and he finally disclosed his health issues.

In 2009, Steve Jobs suffered from weight loss and reports also showed that he needed a liver transplant but he shared that this was all because of hormone imbalance and after that, he took a leave of almost 6 months.

Steve Jobs shared his health issues with the employees and in the year 2011, he named Tim Cook as the new Apple's CEO who will take care of the day to day operations and he resigned from the duties of being CEO and went on medical leave.

On this day, October 5th, Steve Jobs died in the year 2011 in Palo Alto as he suffered from pancreatic cancer for nearly a decade. He was just 56 years old at the time of his death.

Just before dying, Steve Jobs was at his sister's place Mona Simpson along with his wife and kids and his last words were:
"OH WOW, OH WOW, OH WOW"
