EXCLUSIVE: MEET THE RISING SENSATION IN PUNJABI MUSIC 'MANJINDER BRAR'

Punjabi music industry comprises an ocean of multi-talented jewels, one such jewel is lyricist-singer Manjinder Brar. He has a rock-solid background as a lyricist. His writing craft is appreciated by Punjabi Industry and is all set to give tough competition to singers. After giving hit lyrics for many songs like Kaur B’s song “Paranda” and B Jay Randhawa’s “Theth Gabruu”, Manjinder Brar nailed it with his singing debut ‘Dhokhebaaz’ in November last year. And now after back to back success since donning the singer's cap he is to step in once again with 'Sharaab'. Sharaab Poster When asked which of his written song is his favorite and why? Brar said, It will be 'Paranda' by Kaur B, not just because it was a huge hit but also because it got me recognized. I got immense love from kids, teenagers, and adults as well. It made me more aware of the lyricist sitting inside and motivated me for more good work.   What do you find most challenging about being a Lyricist? To pen down a song which is equally liked by people of all age groups and it should not hurt anyone's emotions, in fact, should just spread happiness. Who so ever listen to it should enjoy, I think that's kind of difficult for me, still 'Practice makes the man perfect'. What’s your favorite piece of music and why? It will be Ustaad Kuldeep Manak's 'Banauti Yaar' and in that the way harmonium has been utilized is one of my favorite piece of music. Firstly, harmonium itself is my favorite instrument and secondly, the way in which mood that instrument got utilized is my super favorite. Even you must listen to it, you'd say the same.  Are you more of a singer or more of a songwriter? Since my childhood, the first color between God's gifts singing and writing which I felt I hold is singing. But with time I got recognized for my writing and now I feel like without writing my singing is sort of incomplete. Both should be balanced for me and equally love both singing and writing. What more can we expect from you in the coming future? I am coming out with an entire package as a singer-lyricist. It's gonna be versatile so that every age group finds something in it. I am confident all the emotions we will be bringing will get your immense love. On the work front, Brar's upcoming melody 'Sharaab: Teri Yaad' is penned down by himself, music to the melody has been given by prominent music director The Boss and is a music film by Filmy Gang.
