Harman Jeet who is a poet and songwriter was recently awarded the Yuva Puraskar for his book 'Rani Tatt'. He is a school teacher at Ranjitgarh village in Punjab’s Mansa district. The award received by Harman was given by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi. Sahitya Academy, India's National Academy of letters, is an institution that annually honors outstanding and exceptional young writers in one of the 24 prominent languages in India. The honor conferred is the 'Yuva Puraskar'. The main aim is to inspire, encourage and promote young writers. And also to preserve the literature. According to reports, the poet and lyricist began writing poetry at an early age but never thought of publishing his work until 2015 when this book came into being. It is known to be a collection of poetry and prose, written at various time intervals. An example is a Punjabi film 'Lahoriye'. The song 'Paani Ravi Da' was written by him. As reported by a leading news daily, the writer wishes to continue writing songs for films. he said this in a statement which quotes; “I was enchanted by music in my childhood and could remember every detail about the songs including the singer, the composer, and the music director. I used to think that I should do something like this” Earlier the lyricist had been awarded Shri Kanvar Singh Chauhan Yadgiri Nazam Puraskar and Punjabi Sahitya Academy Award for prose. He is indeed making the people of Punjab proud. Currently, he is working with the sensational singer Amrinder Gill for his upcoming album. Congratulations Harman.
