There are various faces which the Pollywood industry sees every new day. Sanjeeda Shaikh is such new face who entered the Pollywood industry through her debut movie opposite Amrinder Gill, Ashke. In one of her recent interviews, she had an open dialogue about her movie Ashke and all the rumours that it was surrounded by. She has done a few Bollywood movies and Telugu movies. It was her first time in Punjabi film industry about which she said that it was a completely new for her. She added that the people in the industry are very creative and intelligent. She also added that her team and crew left no stone unturned to make her feel at home. Talking about her character Jiya, she said "The way I am in movie is actually very similar to my personality. Moreover, the producer and the director knew how to take a performance out of an actor. Thus going over the board was not an option. They knew how to take control whenever required." She felt it was fun while shooting for a Punjabi movie because ot was out of her comfort zone. Intially she felt it was an alien language but after somedays she became familiar with it. Sanjeeda was all praises for her co-actor, Amrinder Gill. She said, "Amrinder is very down to earth. "He doesn't talk much and despite being such a big star, he is very humble. The way he handles himself is very amazing. Moreover, honestly its his simplicity which just adds to the charm." She was flying back to Mumbai from Hong-Kong when Amberdeep, the director of the film called him and put the proposal for the movie. After she heard him, the only question she asked was if she would get to perform in the film. And Amberdeep assured her that it would be performance oriented movie. People who went to see the film were aware about the fact that the movie was not promoted at all. She also cleared the rumours that were sparking regarding it. She said that because of the shooting schedules which were majorly out things got delayed and because of which the makers could not promote the film. To this she also added that the filmmakers wanted to release the film on an auspicious occasion, hence the film was released on 27th July which also marked the occasion of Guru Purnima.
