SARA IFTEKHAR IS CHANGING THE FACE OF MISS WORLD PAGEANT

A girl of Pakistan origin from England is set to become the first hijab wearing finalist of the Miss England beauty pageant which would be held in Nottinghamshire. This girl's name is Sara Iftekhar and is a student studying law at Huddersfield University in West Yorkshire, England. She will face comptetion from 49 other contestants who would be in the hope of einning the crown. Prior to this competition, Sara has won Miss Huddersfield 2018 title in the month of July. She is 20 year old and is also working as a make-up artist. She has gained immense popularity on social media sites. She often shares pictures of herself wearing traditional Pakistani outfits on her Instagram page. Sara said that she participated in the competition for "a bit of fun". She said, "I did not expect to be making history. I do feel proud. At the end of the day, I may be the first woman to wear a hijab [at the Miss England final]. However, I am just a regular girl and we all have a fair opportunity in this contest." I am just like the other contestants. If I am sending out that message it will motivate other people to participate in a beauty contest." Sara started a clothing business at the age of 16 and contributed the entire amount to Beauty with purpose, which is a charity organization owned by Miss World Organisation. She organised a charity for children on a fund-raising page and she shared, "I participated in Miss 2018 in order to show that beauty doesn't have a definition. Everyone is beautiful in their own ways, regardless of their weight, race, colour or shape." She shared on her Instagram page she said, "I still feel honoured to be one of the amazing girls in the top 50 chosen out of 22,000 women. I just can't wait to see where this journey takes me." She will be representing England at the Miss Wold competition in Sanya, China. This grand competition will be held in December 2018.
