Shilpa Shetty honored with the 'Champion of Change' award

Champion of Change is an important Indian award, which is given for promoting Swachata, Gandhian values and community services in the country. The award is given annually in different categories. They are the application of Education, Healthcare, Science, and Technology for Rural Development, outstanding contribution for the Development and Welfare of Women and Children, outstanding contribution in Swatch Bharat Abhiyan, International award for promoting Gandhian values outside India.


Recently, actress and entrepreneur Shilpa Shetty Kundra and her husband businessman Raj Kundra have been awarded the Champion of Change award 2019. She was given the award for encouraging people to take up the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The award was conferred by Former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee.

During the event, Shilpa Shetty shared that, “I am truly respected to get this honor and I feel it is every citizen’s duty to keep their country clean. This year I have planted 480 trees to counterbalance my whole carbon impression. It's every citizen's obligation to take care of our valuable planet for the present as well as for the future.”

Last year 'Champion of Change' award was conferred to N. Biren Singh, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Nishikant Dubey, Dr. Sohini Sastri and many more.

Meanwhile, Shilpa Shetty is busy with her movies too. She has started shooting for "Hungama 2" and she will also be seen in "Nikamma"
