Prime Minister Narendra Modi soared the skies in a Tejas fighter jet during his visit to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Bengaluru. Amidst his inspection of HAL’s manufacturing facility, the Prime Minister’s flight experience was deemed “incredibly enriching,” solidifying his confidence in India’s indigenous capabilities.

Emphasizing the government’s commitment to bolstering indigenous defence production, Modi highlighted the surge in manufacturing and exports, particularly of the Tejas aircraft. Notably, during his US visit, GE Aerospace and HAL sealed a pact for jointly producing engines for the Mk-II Tejas, drawing international interest in India’s defense products.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh celebrated India’s achievement, announcing a record-breaking defense export figure of Rs 15,920 crore for FY 2022-2023 in April. This milestone signifies India’s burgeoning position as a global player in the defense manufacturing arena.
