An investigation is underway following a bomb blast at The Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru’s Whitefield, leaving 10 people injured. A team comprising Forensic Science Laboratory, bomb disposal squad, and a dog squad is actively examining the blast site. Karnataka police have registered an FIR under relevant sections of the IPC and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The Explosive Substance Act has also been invoked.

Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G Parameshwara stated that the suspect, believed to be 28-30 years old, arrived at the cafe on a public bus. The police are reviewing CCTV footage for evidence, emphasizing the use of a timer in the blast. The state government has formed eight teams to investigate the incident.

Deputy CM Shivakumar revealed that the perpetrator left a bag with an improvised explosive device (IED) behind a woman sitting with other customers. The blast occurred an hour after the man’s departure. The NIA has visited the blast site, and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi called for an NIA investigation, linking the incident to radicalization.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner urged caution and cooperation, emphasizing ongoing investigations and multiple leads. The police are appealing to the media not to engage in speculation due to the sensitivity of the case and potential security concerns. The incident raises concerns about public safety and the need for a thorough inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the explosion.
